Update from Simon
"Hi everyone. Little pic of my gorgeous girls at Christmas. Chelsea is feeling a bit better today - she's in hospital after an emergency which started on Tuesday - an infection of her chemo port causing a worrying high fever. When I left yesterday, her fever was under control and Chelsea was smiling and almost back to her normal wonderful, brave self. Angie has been in overnight and I'm about to head back to hospital this morning for my shift. We are hopeful she will not have to have surgery to remove the port. I've had no calls overnight so I'm assuming she is still doing well. Docs say we may be in for a 7 day stay. I know we are in your thoughts. That helps. We remain strong and positive and Chelsea is just an awesome little fighter. Much love from us all"

Cousins and an update:)
Angie, Simon and the Girls have visitors!! Angie's brother and his family are visiting from Canada for a few weeks. Below is a picture of the girls with their cousins! The girls love having their big cousins around to hug, swim and play with.
Chelsea continues with her treatment of chemotherapy and steroids. Luckily, she will get a break from the steroid treatment later this month. The chemo drugs she had over the past month were very strong so she will get a week off from treatment so that her blood count can recover. Please continue to pray for Chelsea and send positive energy her way. Thank you to everyone for all of your support.

Spreading Christmas Joy
Angie and Simon have had so many offers of alternative therapy: holistic/ religious healing by Muslim medicine men, Indian prayer sachets, Christian and Tao faith groups, Reiki therapy and the Catholic Church!
Most recently, 40 members of the church filled their flat to sing Christmas carols and pray!
They sang Frosty, Feliz Navidad, Jingle Bells and several other songs followed by Our Father and a Hail Mary for Chelsea. It made the Douthwaites Christmas so special. Check out the pictures below:

Gibraltar Fundraiser, a Huge Success!!
Here's an update from the organizer, Nina, of the fundraising event in Gibraltar:
"The Douthwaites have a large group of friends in Gibraltar and Alcaidesa (Spain). We have formed a Facebook group called Team Chelsea Gibraltar (feel free to join us!). On 6 December we arranged a fund-raiser at Nina’s house in Gibraltar in the form of an open house with £5 door cover. This was also the kickoff for our Christmas raffle with tickets sold by our group and previous members of Angie’s volleyball team in Gibraltar.
News of this event triggered a heart-warming reaction among Nina’s friends in Sweden, who donated a total of 14.390 SEK (13.907 HKD) – simply amazing!
Nina’s daughters Maya and Isa sold hand-made stones and shells and took on a challenge to see who could stand the longest on one leg. The winner got £20 to donate to Chelsea!
This evening, we raised a total of £374 and €95 (excluding the raffle). The profit from the raffle has been included in the total from our next fund-raiser, which took place on Boxing Day in Alcaidesa, Spain.”

Upcoming Fundraiser in Gibraltar
When the Douthwaites were living in Gibraltar they met Nina, their neighbor. She became a fabulous friend and a big part of the Douthwaite family. Once Nina heard of Chelsea's diagnosis she decided to take action and came up with the following event:
Nina has organized a fund-raiser this Saturday, 6 December, at La Finca restaurant in Alcaidesain Gibraltar. It is an open house with food and drinks and a £5 cover at the door, proceeds going to Chelsea. Her daughters, Maya and Isa, have made bracelets and decorations which they will be selling. Her Facebook support group is called Team Chelsea Gibraltar if people want to join.
This will also kick off a raffle which will run until 1 January. Supporters can contact Nina at nina@cosmooco.se if they would like to purchase raffle tickets.
Nina, who is originally from Sweden, has already collected over $2000 CA from her family and friends in Sweden!!
Thank you so much Nina and we wish you all the best with the fundraiser!!

Moon Triathletes in Hong Kong
Toby and Jim Moon, who successfully completed the Hong Kong International Triathlon
in October have raised a huge sum of money for the Douthwaites! They raced the course in honor of Chelsea. The Moon's family and friends made the fundraising a great success!! There are dozens and dozens of people to thank, many of whom do not even know the Douthwaites. Angie and Simon would like to thank each and every person who donated. The support you gave Toby and Jim and the Douthwaites is overwhelming. They are so grateful for all that you have done and will forever remember your generosity. xoxo
